RIO RANCHO, N.M. – On Saturday, May 28, the City of Rio Rancho’s outdoor pools will open for public use. Pool locations and hours of operation are:
- Haynes Community Center Pool, 2006 Grande Blvd.
- May 28 – Aug. 7 (recreation swim daily from noon to 6 p.m.)
- Aug. 16 – Sept. 5 (recreation and lap swim Saturdays and Sundays only from noon to 6 p.m.)
- Lap swim Monday – Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday
- Water aerobics Monday, Wednesday and Fridays 11 a.m. to noon
- Cabezon Recreation Center Pool, 2307 Cabezon Blvd.
- May 28 – Aug. 7 (recreation swim daily from noon to 6 p.m.)
- Fridays- Family night swim 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Rainbow Pool, 301 Southern Blvd.
- Opening mid-summer, due to repairs and maintenance.
The daily fee to use any of the outdoor pools is $4. The fee for children ages 2 to 12, as well as adults 55 years of age and older is $3 per day. The Rio Rancho Aquatic Center, 745 Loma Colorado Blvd., is open year-round and will have extended summer operating hours from May 31 through Aug. 6. The center will close on May 30 for Memorial Day, June 19-20 for Juneteenth, July 4-5 for Independence Day, and from August 8-12 for maintenance. The center does not open until 2 p.m. on the first Monday of each month to allow for regular maintenance.
Summer hours are:
- Recreation Swim (all ages)
- Wednesday-Thursday: noon to 5 p.m.
- Friday: noon to 7 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: noon to 6 p.m.
- Lap Swim (adults only)
- Monday – Thursday: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Friday: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday: noon to 6 p.m.
- Number of available lanes varies throughout the day
- Two lap lanes available between 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday-Friday
